"Sandra Doorley, 

   I have become aware of the Davon Davis case, a 23yr old young man from Rochester struck by an SUV being driven by a man over the legal blood alcohol limit. It is absolutely unacceptable that the driver was able to sit on the scene in his own vehicle (the murder weapon) for hours. It is unacceptable that the family was not included or kept informed during the case. It is unacceptable that the family did not receive justice or even an apology from the driver, your office or the Monroe County Sheriff’s office. An office that prides itself on being “tough on crime” and holding criminals accountable, should be expected to be held to the same level of accountability. As a Rochester resident, I implore you to re-open the vehicular manslaughter case and reconvene the Grand Jury. You recently told the media the case can not be sent to the Grand Jury again but Criminal Procedure Law (CPL) 190.75 states that it CAN if you petition the court to do so. Davon Davis and his family deserve justice!
